Are Shure headphones the best on the market?
The title of ‘best headphones on the market’ might seem like a bold statement. Perhaps so, but in a recent article by Time Magazine, which ranks headphones from best to worst, they set out to find answers. Great news for Shure, as it turns out we’re top of the list!
Time Magazine concluded that less well informed consumers were buying into celebrity endorsements and glossy marketing campaigns, instead of making purchasing decisions based on high quality audio. Driven by a desire to change this scenario, Time set out to separate fact from fiction and highlighted which brands deserve consumer attention, and which do not.
From a study featuring 3000 headphones and earphones, each product has been given a score out of 100 based on the following factors:
- 75% – expert reviews (CNET, Wired, TechCrunch, What HiFi, Good Gear Guide, PC Mag)
- 25% – specs and features (frequency, sensitivity, noise canceling, etc.)
Shure Tops Time Magazine Headphone Ranking
Shure have scored an impressive 90/100, topping the list and proudly sitting next to the likes of Grado (89) and Klipsch (84). Time had the following to conclude about the top tier and their study:
“They’re three of the pricier brands, but Klipsch, Grado and Shure headphones are the most reliable buys on this list, with outstanding performance and consistently glowing reviews from experts. If you’re cash-strapped, a cheap pair from Sony or JVC will be fine, but those looking to take a new step in audio enjoyment should start here.”
In a world driven by instant fame, reality TV, and increasingly throwaway cultures, Shure are proud to continue producing products of the highest possible quality. In the words of Sidney Shure (Founder of Shure Inc): “We know very well that absolute perfection cannot be attained, but we will never stop striving for it.”
